PLANS to make a “wild” West Cumbrian forest even wilder will come under the international spotlight at a major conference in Sweden next week.
The Bridging the Gap conference near Malmo in Sweden will bring together experts from across the globe to look at the ways forests are managed. The meeting, which starts on October 17, is part of European Union efforts to protect the continent’s forests.
The Wild Ennerdale Partnership is also working with BBC.co.uk/cumbria and the YHA to bring Ennerdale into people’s homes. Hosted by BBCi Cumbria, a unique hydroelectric-powered webcam has been installed in Ennerdale Youth Hostel to provide a view across the valley.
