Postmaster Diane Brown wants South Kitsap residents to know that she offers an alternative to waiting in line at main post offices to mail packages during the holidays.

She said she had only four customers while she was open last Saturday, which was during her normal 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday hours, while main post offices had long lines of early holiday package mailers.

She'll have special Saturday hours of 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 3 and 17, she said. Her normal daily hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a one-hour closure for lunch at 12:30 p.m.
