There are several clear signs that a house is unoccupied, making it an easy target for criminals over the December holidays. Curtains that remain drawn, no residents coming and going, mail spilling out the post box, a lawn becoming overgrown, are all signs that the owners are away on holiday.

“While there are several things you can do to keep your house safe in your absence, such as additional security measures and armed response, it is still very important to be adequately insured,” says Clinton Aspelling, Director of CIB Insurance.
